What the app is
Turece Fleece is a record-keeping tool for small flock keepers. It lets you build a register of ewes with breed and birth year, plan and run shearing days, choose participating ewes and a shearer, record faults and their severity, weigh each cut in the weigh room, organise wool into bundles at the sorting table, apply wool classes from the class table, and review the season through the Season Book and Season Chart.
It is a record book, not an advisor. It does not provide veterinary, agronomic, commercial, valuation or certification advice, and it is not a substitute for professional judgement or for any official record required by law or by a wool buyer.
Your licence
Subject to these terms, you are granted a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable licence to install and use one copy of the app on devices you own or control, for your own farming or business record keeping.
You may not: copy, sell, rent, sublicense or redistribute the app; reverse engineer, decompile or attempt to derive its source code except where that restriction is prohibited by law; remove or alter any notice inside the app; or use the app in a way that breaks any applicable law or app store rule.
Your records are your responsibility
All entries you make — ewes, shearing days, fault notes, weights, bundles and classes — are stored on your own device. The developer keeps no copy and cannot restore anything for you.
- Keep your own backups. Device backup services and any export the app offers are the only ways to protect a season's work.
- If you lose, reset, wipe or replace the device, or uninstall the app, the local records go with it.
- You are responsible for the accuracy of what you enter, including weights, class selections and any names of shearers or helpers you type in.
Weights, classes and measurement
The app records the numbers you enter and the adjustments you apply; it does not measure anything itself. Fibre fineness and staple length shown alongside each class are reference guidance to help you remember what a class means, not a laboratory result or a grading certificate.
Where a fleece weight, a bundle total, a class or a fault record is used for a sale, a contract, an insurance claim or a scheme submission, verify it against your scales and against the requirements of whoever is receiving it. Season Chart figures are a visual summary derived from your own entries and inherit any error present in them.
Acceptable use
Use the app for lawful record keeping only. Do not use it to store data you have no right to hold, to impersonate another holding, or to produce records you know to be false for the purpose of misleading a buyer, an inspector or an insurer.
Ownership
The app itself — its code, interface, layout, icons, wording and the structure of the class table — belongs to Lucas Mercer and is protected by copyright. These terms grant you a licence to use the app, not ownership of it.
The content you create inside the app remains entirely yours. No licence to your flock data is granted to the developer, and none could be exercised in any case, since that data never leaves your device.
Updates, changes and availability
Features may be added, changed or withdrawn between versions in order to improve the app or to keep it working with new operating system releases. Updates are distributed through your app store and may be required for continued correct operation. The developer may discontinue the app at any time; if that happens, an installed copy will normally keep working on your device until an OS change stops it, but no guarantee of ongoing availability is given.
Purchases and app stores
Any payment for the app or for in-app content is handled by Apple or Google under their own terms. Refunds follow the relevant store's refund policy, and the developer cannot process a refund directly. Your use of the store, and your device's own terms, sit alongside these terms.
Termination
You may end this agreement at any time by uninstalling the app. The licence ends automatically if you breach these terms in a material way. Clauses on ownership, disclaimers and liability survive termination.
Changes to these terms and governing law
These terms may be revised; the current version is always the one published at /terms with its effective date. Continuing to use the app after a revision means you accept the revised terms. The terms are governed by the laws applicable at the publisher's place of residence, without affecting mandatory consumer rights you hold where you live.
